Curriculum
The Beautiful Minds Learning curriculum is designed to support 2-day or 4-day attendance options, allowing families to balance structured classroom learning with meaningful time at home.
Our curriculum follows a spiral approach, which means that key concepts are revisited and reinforced throughout the year at increasing levels of complexity. This approach helps students build a deep, lasting understanding of subjects while allowing them to progress at their own pace.
Beautiful Minds Learning uses a blend of values-based and academic resources to create a hands-on, engaging, and flexible learning experience for every child. Lessons incorporate family values, high moral standards, and strong academics.
Because our lessons are open-and-go, parents can easily facilitate at-home learning for students attending 2 days per week. This ensures that all students return to class prepared and on the same lesson as their peers, keeping learning consistent and connected.
We do not assign traditional grades or administer standardized tests, and students are never measured as being "behind" or "ahead" of grade level. Assessments are given throughout the year to measure each child’s individual growth and understanding of the material. If your child will be taking standardized tests externally, please note that our instruction focuses on conceptual understanding rather than teaching to a test. Families are always welcome to speak with their child’s teacher about progress.
Classes are not leveled by ability. Each class intentionally includes mixed learning levels, and small group instruction encourages students to learn from one another. Research shows this approach is one of the most effective ways to bridge learning gaps.
Beautiful Minds Learning is also a generally screen-free campus. Screens are not regularly used in lessons and are never used to replace personal instruction provided by a teacher.

The Good and the Beautiful
We use the curriculum "The Good and the Beautiful" for math and language arts. Parents purchase these materials separately for their children, and our teachers use them daily in the classroom.
School-wide STEM + Cooking
We also use a school-wide STEM and cooking curriculum developed by our Lead Teacher, Miss Peterson. These lessons are adapted to each grade level to ensure developmentally appropriate, exciting, and educational experiences.
Art
Art lessons are incorporated weekly as well, allowing students to explore creativity and self-expression throughout the year.
History + Science
We use The Good and The Beautiful resources for history and science, with teachers designing hands-on, engaging activities that bring these standards to life in meaningful and memorable ways.
